Release the "I" from your conversations

Ever feel that leadership is a tough gig?

Well, I have a challenge for you if you're up for it.

It's not easy, but it might just make you a better leader. And also make the process of leadership feel a little easier.

Let me tell you a bit more.

What would it be like to release the "I" from your conversations? Maybe that sounds weird or a little scary. Giving up your "I" is difficult. We use this to talk from our perspective. It helps us work stuff out for ourselves and make sense of the world.

But just stop and consider this. If you allow your opinions and judgement to fade into the background, what might you see and experience? Often our "I" gets in the way both for ourselves and those around us.

So here is the challenge. See if you can go a whole day without your "I". Now, it will show up. That is for sure. But when it does, just notice it and let it go. Replace it with curiosity and see where that might lead you.

A whole day without "I".

This little practice will help you increase your presence and awareness as a leader. And, you'll likely achieve quicker and more profound results.

Please share your experience. I'd love to hear what you learn. I can be reached here and on LinkedIn.
